We’re back and open for bookings – we look forward to seeing you again!

Cambridge Dial-a-Ride, which provides an essential minibus service transporting people with mobility issues, is delighted to be ‘up and running’ again in line with Government recommendations on the lockdown exit plan.

Bill Hughes Chair of the Charity says “We were delighted to have been able to set a date to restart transporting our members and really pleased that we have been able to keep to this date and commence our invaluable minibus service again.  I know many members and groups have missed our friendly ‘door to door’ service and are looking forward to getting out and about on our buses to their appointments, shopping trips and visits again. Although Cambridge Dial-a-Ride had to suspend its normal services during the National Lockdowns implemented by the Government, it has been able to assist members, taking them to their Covid Vaccination appointments and important health appointments where they are unable to travel to them independently.  All our buses have been made as Covid safe as possible and all our drivers and volunteers briefed in our new Standards of Practice”.

Adds, Johan Williams, Office Manager, “Cambridge Dial-a-Ride was still offering a reduced service throughout the latest lockdown as we were permitted to provide free transport to Covid-19 Vaccination appointments to both our members and non-members who have difficulty with public transport due to age, infirmity or disability or do not have transport of their own.  Non-members will be offered a temporary membership to cover their vaccination appointment but will be able to join in full at any time for a small fee if they so wish”.

Cambridge Dial-a-Ride is still able to take both members and non-members to their booked vaccination appointments as well as their regular permitted journeys and therefore if you have either a first or second vaccination appointment booked but are unable to get there by your own or public transport, we would be delighted to take you – free of charge!  Just call the Dial-a-Ride office on 01223 506335 for details and to book your journey.
