Newly Launched Saturday Outings a great Success!
Cambridge Dial-a-Ride has launched a series of Saturday minibus trips for its members who wish to get out and meet other members. We launched these outings in May 2023 with our first one going to Hunstanton. Despite the weather being against us, it proved to be a very successful trip with our minibuses stopping off at The Norfolk Lavender Farm in Heacham on the way. We have since organised 2 more trips, to Felixstowe and Holkham Hall.
The outings are all from Cambridge and will take our members to places on interest with a stop off at a Garden Centre on route to the destination, allowing them some time to explore and have some free time before returning back to their homes. This service is only available to our Members and the trips are on a first come first served basis.
We have 2 more trips lined up, the first to Hunstanton on the 19th August, stopping off at The BayTree Garden Centre in Hilgay on the way. Then on the 9th September, we are going to Wroxham where our members can visit Roy’s of Wroxham and visit the boats at the Marina. On this trip we are stopping off at Elveden Courtyard for a short comfort break to enable or Members to use the facilities there.
Ryan Langston, Operations Manager said “We are very pleased to be offering these minibus outings to our members, we began offering these trips as a way for our members to tackle isolation, allow them to keep their independency whilst making new friends. The feedback from our past trips has been great and really shows the necessity for these outings to continue; it also shows us that our Members need Cambridge Dial-a-Ride to allow them to continue living their lives in the way that they want to. I’d like to thank our members who have already taken part in these trips for their feedback and continued support of Cambridge Dial-a-Ride, as well as members who couldn’t attend but still use our service.”
Keep an eye out on our website for more trips taking in place in the Winter months.
