Cambridge Dial-a-Ride offers Free Transport to Covid-19 Vaccination Appointments
Cambridge Dial-a-Ride, is pleased to announce that it is able to offer free transport to members of the public who have received an invitation from the NHS to attend a Covid-19 Vaccination appointment and live in Cambridge or within a 10 mile radius of the city centre.
Bill Hughes Chair of the Charity says “Although Cambridge Dial-a-ride has had to suspend its services to members due to the National Lockdown implemented by the Government on 4 January, we are able to offer free transport to Covid-19 Vaccination appointments to both our members and non-members who have difficulty with public transport due to age, infirmity or disability or do not have transport of their own at no cost. Non-members will be offered a temporary membership to cover their vaccination appointment but will be able to join in full at any time for a small fee if they so wish”.
Adds, Johan Williams, Office Manager, “All our minibuses have been fitted out with protective screens to shield both passengers and staff, reduced seating has been arranged to allow for socially distanced capacity as well as extra cleansing in-between journeys, PPE worn by staff, hand sanitiser available and compulsory mask wearing allowing us to carry out these journeys under our Covid safe operations”.
If you have received your invitation from the NHS, not able to get to your appointment by your own means, currently not a member of Cambridge Dial-a-Ride and would like more information on how to access this free service or wish to join – simply give us a call on 01223 506335.
